I would just like to say that in the after life Ashlen is thirty six and her son is ten, but he did not die at age ten. Also that even though this is third person there will be different point of views if you know what I mean.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ashlen Hopper felt really weird and oddly young. One moment she was picnicking with her ten year old son in a beautiful guardian and the next minute she felt as if she was being tugged away. Having felt that something was wrong, Ashlen had tried to resist but whatever was pulling her from her son was strong. John kept crying out for his mother and tried grabbing Ashlen's hands but their fingers slipped from each other. The next thing the thirty six year old woman knew was that she slipped into a world of darkness.
The next thing Ashlen felt was someone poking her cheek. She thought it might have been her son but she couldn't find herself opening her mouth to form any words. After the finger pulled away and she waited a few seconds Ashlen found herself groaning in pain as her fingers twitches. Wait.... pain? There was no pain in the after life Ashlen came from. She had been a good person that did nothing but protect humans; she didn't deserve pain. Where on earth or heaven could she be?
Ashlen could feel her body laying on something hard. She would have thought that she was laying on the ground but whatever she was laying on was cold like metal. Perhaps she was laying on some kind of table but, since she couldn't open her eyes, the woman couldn't be sure. The woman could hear unfamiliar voices around her and they made her frown. First feeling young, next feeling pain and now unfamiliar voices? This really wasn't the after world.
~~~~~
"It's working. It's working." The LGM chanted as the cyborg began to come to life. Team Lightyear began to crowed around the girl, surprised to see that the summoning had actually worked.
"I can't believe it. It actually worked." Mira said in disbelief. XR smiled smug like and crossed his arms across his chest, allowing the cape to drape around his body.
"I knew it would work. We just needed to give it some time. There was no need to doubt me." The robot said proudly. Although his proud rant was cut short when the cyborg groaned again and tried to push herself up.
"What happened? Where am I?" The young woman asked in a soft whisper. Seconds later her eyes widened and she grabbed her throat with her human hand.
"Ma.... my voice! Why do I sound so young?!" The teenaged cyborg shouted as she looked around the room in the panic. Team Lightyear looked at each other questionably as the LGMs looked up in awe.
"Mama, please calm down, we mean you no harm." Booster claimed calmly, trying to act friendly. The cyborg that now held Ashlen Hopper's soul turned her head and screamed at the sight of the red alien.
"What the hell is going on?!" Ashlen screamed as she jumped to her feet to stand on the table. The LGM continued to observe as the rangers stared at the newly reincarnated woman, who now appeared to be seventeen.
"Buzz, maybe she would feel more better if she talks to another human." Mira suggested, nudging the man gently. The said man crossed his arms and looked at the female of their group.
"Mira, she isn't human herself. She's a witch that looks human." The man responded. The female alien narrowed her eyes before she stuck her hand into the team leader's forehead.
"You will go explain what happened." She ordered. Hypnotized to Mira's mind control, Buzz walked over to the work bench, pushing XR away.
"Hey! What was that for? Couldn't you have asked me to move?" The little robot complained as he crossed his arms again. Buzz only ignored the pouting robot as he looked up at the freaked out cyborg.
"Allow me to explain what's going on, Ms. Hopper." Buzz said, gaining the girl's attention. Relieved to see another human Ashlen calmed down slightly to listen.
Ashlen had no idea what was going on. First she felt young, then she felt pain which didn't happen in the after world. Next were the unfamiliar voices and then her own voice which sounded much too young to be eighty-two or even thirty-six. Finally Ashlen came to realize she was in a room full of creatures of which she's never seen before. Although that red creature that had spoken to her somehow reminded her of an alien off of that T.V show, Lilo and Stitch.
Normally, as someone who fought monsters and creatures in her living life, Ashlen wouldn't be this jumpy. Although she had no idea what was wrong with her. She was feeling like a frightened teenager right now. The only thing keeping her slightly calm was the fact that a human was in the room. Even if he wasn't a good guy at least he was human and he was going to explain what was going on.
"Well you see our commander ordered us to build a cyborg to help around Star Command. Although we tried to tell him that a cyborg is half living creature, he wouldn't listen. So we had to be creative. XR over here suggested we summon someone from the grave into the body and that's what we did." Buzz said, pointing his thumb to XR, who was carefully putting the cape back into his chest compartment. Ashlen frowned as she calmed down, narrowing her eyes at the little robot that had been mentioned.
"So you're the reason I was pulled out of the after world?" Ashlen asked, jumping from the table with a growl. Having known it was smart to avoid pissed off women, XR slowly backed up with a gulp.
"Well, heh heh, we needed a good soul for the body and your profile said you used to be a protector on Earth." XR said nervously. Both of Ashlen's hands turned themselves into fists as both her turned a bright yellow color.
"Because of you I was pulled away from my son and..... wait..... did you say cyborg?" Ashlen asked slowly. She finally looked down at her body.
She saw that, unlike her right arm, her left arm was a shinny silver metal. Staring in complete shock she flexed the fingers as if they were part of her hold hand. Looking down at her legs, Ashlen saw that her right like looked like a skeleton but was in fact another metal robot limb, just very detailed. The upper part of her legs was covered by white shorts and her upper body was covered her a sleeveless white shirt.
"What did you do to my body?!" Ashlen demanded in her shock. The rangers and LGM watched as her eyes flashed back to the blue they had been before.
"Well, technology that is not your body. You died over seven hundred years ago. You're real body would be nothing but ashes by now." XR explained in his nervousness. He hadn't thought the Hopper witch would be so upset about being brought back to life.
Ashlen lifted her head to look at the robot with another yellow eyed, angry glare. She was past angry now, as her eyes could show; they only turned yellow when she was furious. She was taken from her eternal rest, her heaven to be brought back as a cyborg?! Even though Ashlen was nowhere near evil one thing she was famous for was letting her temper get the better of her. Sometimes her temper could be so bad people had mistaken her for evil.
"You are going to be sorry for disturbing my ever lasting sleep. How dare you mess with the dead." Ashlen hissed as she crouched in a fighting stance. Sensing she was about to attack Buzz instantly held out his arm threateningly.
"Now just calm down. Don't make any rash decisions." The Lightyear leader demanded. Ashlen couldn't help but laugh cruelly as the rest of Team Lightyear began to get uncomfortable.
"Maybe this was a bad idea." Mira whispered as she noticed that the LGM had began to leave the room. Ashlen continued to laugh as she then matched a smile with her laugh.
"Sadly I am not evil so it depends on what your definition of rash is." Ashlen said mockingly. Anger was clearly heard in her voice, matching up with the cruel smile.
Before Buzz or any of his teammates could do anything, Ashlen mumbled something under her breath as she threw down her right arm as if she was throwing something. Moments later a cloud of gray smoke filled the entire room. Team Lightyear, for the exception of XR, began to cough as the smoke filled their lungs. The little robot, who wasn't effected by the smoke, simply turned his eyes into flashlights. Although they barely broke through the smoke and, through the coughing, he could hear the doors open and close.
"Um, Buzz. I think the girl has left the room." XR reported as he turned his body into a vacuum. He sucked up all the smoke to revile that the girl was no longer in the room.
"Damn." Buzz cursed under his breath. "We need to get her! Everyone spread out!" He ordered as he rushed out of the room.
"Yes sir!" The other members chanted together. They rushed out of the room and split up to search for the run away girl.
~~~~~
Ashlen ran through numbers of hallways without crossing one other person. The echos of her human foot slapping against the cold floor, and the clinging of her right foot, filled the air. She was actually surprised by the lack of people and creatures in the building of where ever she was. She was sure someone would try to stop her and she didn't even see one of those three eyed green things.
As Ashlen turned down another hallway she passed a window and skidded to a stop. Blinking a couple of times, she stood in place to gather her thoughts. It must have been a trick of the eye but Ashlen couldn't be completely sure. After thinking for a moment the reincarnate witch turned around and walked back to the window. To her greatest shock Ashlen saw that she wasn't in any building she would imagine she would be in.
Instead of a typical view of nature or other buildings Ashlen was looking out into outer space. Stares littered the black space sky and there was a planet not far from where she was. At first Ashlen thought the planet was Earth but she couldn't see the sun or the two planets that came before Earth or the planets after Earth.
'Where the hell am I?' Ashlen thought as she stared at the open space. She felt her heart beating so hard against her chest that it was starting to hurt.
Ashlen was starting to get past her anger and was slipping into depression. She was already angry about being brought back to life and now she finds out she was brought back to life in space. The depression began to get so strong that Ashlen wanted to skin to her knees and cry. Although the witch knew that she could not do that, not yet. First she had to get off of what she guessed was a space station.
When Ashlen heard noises coming from behind her, the young cyborg continued her with her running. She had a feeling that those creatures, along with that human man, were now searching for her. Well Ashlen Hopper, a witch that protected human for years, wasn't going to let herself get caught. She had fought vampires, werewolf, zombies and even a mummy once. She was going to find some way or another to escape. Ashlen would try shifting into a black cat but she was unsure it would work with robot limbs.
Running through another set of sliding doors Ashlen found herself in an odd looking room. There were spaceships everywhere but they looked like cargo holders, like the boats back on Earth. They where a mix of brown and black and looked rusted and dirty. Hearing voices get louder behind her, Ashlen quickly looked around and saw a opened ship. Praying for the best, the cyborg ran towards it and jumped inside moments before the sliding door opened.
"Now where would I hide if I was Ashlen Hopper. Not that I know her or anything. Damn, XR really should have given more information." Mira sighed as she walked into the cargo holding room. She noticed that there was a ship with an open cargo latch and a little off to the side a green, four eyed slime alien was making his way over.
"Hay you!" Mira called out as she rushed over towards the alien. The alien turned and reviled itself to be male.
"Can I help you, Ms?" The alien asked kindly enough. Mira nodded her head quickly as she approached the man.
"Have you seen a cyborg come through here lately? She would be half human and look to be seventeen." Mira asked and described what Ashlen would look like. The alien looked thoughtful for a minute before he shook his neckness body.
"Sorry, I can't say I have." Said the alien as he put a box into the ship before shutting the latch. Mira put her hands on her hips as she stared up at the ship.
"Huh, well where is this stuff going?" The alien princess asked, momentarily distracted. The slime alien looked at Mira with what seemed to be a smile.
"Trade World. have a nice day, ma'am." The male alien waved as he got climbed into the ship. Mira watched as the ship flew out of the station and to it's destination.
"I guess I will have to search somewhere else." Mira mumbled to herself as she allowed herself after seeing no sign of the cyborg. Allowing herself to slip through the floor, Mira began to search the level under the cargo hold.
The third chapter ! I found this one to be sad, a bit frightening, and nostalgic all in one! That's a good thing, by the y . I do hope you post the next chapter soon.
Also, I just wanted to mention that you said her right leg was made of metal, and that her left foot 'clinged' when it hit the floor. Is this correct?
