It was finally that time of year again. It was a time where all the monsters, near and far, gathered in one place to party. Yes, it was finally time for the Ghouls party once again and everyone was starting to get excite. One of those monsters was Count Vlad himself, as it was his castle that would host the party like most years. It was the only space big enough to fit everyone and, despite humans living near by, no one would be able to bother them.
It was a cloudy morning so Igor woke Vlad up hours early to help him finish decorating for the party. Normally, the vampire would want to ring the hunchback's neck for waking him so early. However this time it was different. The vampire knew that the hunchback could not decorate all by himself. The little man was only so big and could reach so many places. Other than that the hunchback was in too much of a good mood to get angry with Igor for waking him up to help.
Tonight Vlad wasn't going to wear his blue cape. Even though the vampire had no problem wearing it most of the time he didn't like dancing in it. A few times the Count had fallen from accidentally stepping on his cape. Whenever that happened the Count ended up taking someone down with him. Vlad even once tripped on his cape when he had been with Mina. Although that was when they first met.
It was kind of upsetting that the Count couldn't invite Mina to party. It wasn't because his monster friends still thought she was human. In fact, besides a couple monsters, everyone thought Mina was a werewolf but tonight wasn't a full moon. Yet the fact that Mina couldn't use her werewolf disguise wasn't the reason she wasn't coming ether. Mina and her family were actually out of town, visiting family. Otherwise the Count would consider inviting her.
By the time the hunchback and vampire finished putting up all the decorations the sun had set. There were more decorations on the ceiling rather than the floor. Yellow streamers hung from the ceiling along with a few colored small disco balls hanging from chains. There was also a larger purple disco ball in the middle of the party room. It was specially designed to reflect different colors around the room while the monsters partied.
The party floor was cut off into different sections. There was the dance floor, the food tables and then a area for the monsters that just wanted to linger around and chat. The dance floor was the biggest space in the room, much needed for all the movement. The general chat area was the second biggest, included with a could couches and chairs. The food table area was the smallest of the three areas.
There were three long tables set up along with one smaller one. The three bigger tables would be filled with food and the smaller table would be filled with drinks. There was all kinds of foods, everything from store bough human food such as chips and dip to home made specials that monsters would be bringing over. It was the same for the drinks. Everything from fruit punch to blood to alcohol.
This year Vlad put a banned on eating human meat. This caused some of the suspicious monsters to claim this was because Mina was human. However Vlad convincingly lied and said it was because the town below his castle had been getting suspicious with all the missing people. According to the lie Vlad said if he wasn't careful a hunter would visit the town. So, despite some disappointed monsters, they understood his reasoning and agreed to the banned.
The two monsters finished decorating with half an hour of free time before the others would arrive. Igor spent the time watching TV and Vlad spent the time just relaxing. It was going to be a very long, energinic night. Even as a nocturnal creature like Vlad he needed as much energy as possible during parties. During the last time Vlad had been so drained of energy that Igor had to help him back to his coffin.
The half hour went by quickly and everyone had began to arrive. Vlad, being the great host he wanted to be, greeted everyone as they entered the castle. In relation to that the Count had made Igor take any coats that his guests brought to another room to reside until the guests were ready to leave. Once that was all done the castle owner and his servant joined the rest in the party room.
"Well, I don't see you're little friend around. Why is that, Vlad?" The mummy questioned only a few minutes into the party. The vampire's eyes narrowed as a few other monsters looked questioningly while others only ignored the scene.
"As a matter of fact, Mummy, Mina and her family have left town. They have gone to visit family so she is unable to come." Vlad's voice clearly showed irritation and anger; he didn't even now why he continued to invite the mummy to his castle. The Mummy scoffed as some others walked off to do other things.
"Sure." The monster rolled his eyes before narrowing them and crossing his bandaged arms. "You aren't fooling anyone, Vlad. I promise you you'll be caught sooner or later." The mummy threatened before walking off. The Count suppressed a animalish hiss as he himself walked over to the drink table.
Ever since the mummy walked to eat Mina and took him to trail, Vlad hated him. If it was up to him he's banish the Mummy from ever coming to his castle again. Even though he could do that, the vampire knew others can take it the wrong way. The mummy was the main monster convincing others that Mina was human. If Vlad suddenly banished him the vampire knew others could get the wrong message. They'd think the Mummy was right all along and try to hurt Mina.
'Can this night get anymore vorse?' Vlad thought as he poured himself some green swamp wine. It was something the lagoon monster had brought and it was something Vlad enjoyed during parties.
"Let's dance, handsome guy." A scratchy, female voice said from behind Vlad. His eyes widening, Vlad, in mid-sip, looked behind him to see a ugly woman reaching for his free hand.
She was a witch, the Count could tell that for sure, but one of the uglier ones. Her skin was a purple gray, she was wearing eyeball earrings and wore a yellow colored nose ring. Her dress was typical for a witch but there were things that made even that ugly. There was a hole near the bottom of her green hat and the matching dress itself was fine except for one thing. Her breasts dangled and drooped badly. Didn't this woman know about bras; good for human and fem monsters?
Vlad didn't get a chance to reply as his hand was grabbed. Unwillingly Vlad dropped his glass as he was dragged to the dance floor. A handful of monsters had formed a circle on dance floor around Vlad and the witch. The count could only groan and hope he didn't hit anyone as he was prancingly spun around. The vampire wished he could pull away from the fem monster but he knew that wasn't going to happen. With the luck the Count was having it was going to be a very long night.
A one shot for Plupcio. I didn't know how to end this so I hope it turned out alright.
